Description:

It is used to sweep the opponent’s foot and avoid a quick kick, such as martelo.

Instructions:

  1. Duck under the kick

Chapa

Description:

It is used to kick the opponent, push him/her away – straight kick. It can be executed with front or back leg.

 

Instructions:

  1. Bring your feet to parallel position
  2. Lift your foot – the one following your bodys’ motion
  3. Kick straight – not in a circular motion
  4. Return to ginga position by rewinding the following steps

Description:

Description:

It is used to kick the opponent – side  kick targeting opponent’s head / side. It can be executed with front or back leg.

  2. Lift your leg at your side– the one following your bodys’ motion
  3. Kick opponent’s side
  4. Return to ginga position by rewinding the following steps

Bencao

Description:

It is used to kick the opponent – front kick, pushing straight. It can be executed with front or back leg. Impact to the opponent can vary and can be hard to avoid.

Instructions:

  1. Bring your foot to parallel position
  2. Lift your foot
  3. Push with all your body and kick straight – your body should lean back
  4. Return to ginga position

Queixada

Description:

It is used to kick the opponent – circular kick, from outside to inside. It can be executed with front or back leg.

Instructions:

1st way:

  1. Go back, do an esquiva to avoid the opponent
  2. Step forward and swift your body weight from back leg to front
  3. Bring the back leg forward and cross it with your front
  4. Kick with your front leg from outside to inside
  5. Return to ginga position

2nd way:

  1. Bring your foot to parallel position
  2. Place your leg that follows body motion front
  3. Repeat steps of first way from step 3

3rd way:

  1. Stop in ginga position
  2. Lift your back leg and kick from outside to inside

Armada

Description:

It is used to kick the opponent -spinning kick – doing a 360 rotation.

Instructions:

  1. Bring your foot to parallel position
  2. Bring the leg that follows body motion, front
  3. Swift your body’s weight from back leg to the front
  4. Turn your body in a circular motion until you can look the opponent again
  5. Kick in a circular motion and bring kicking leg back
  6. Return to ginga position

Important!

While kicking keep your leg straight in order to increase kicking power.
If you don’t properly turn and see your opponent before kicking, you have no control at your kick and you will probably lose your balance.

Meia Lua De Compasso

Description:

It is used to kick the opponent- spinning kick – doing a 360 rotation, touching the floor.

Instructions:

  1. Bring your foot to parallel position
  2. Bring the leg that follows body motion, front
  3. Touch the floor looking at the opponent under your legs
  4. Swift your body’s weight from back leg to the front
  5. Kick in a circular motion and bring kicking leg back
  6. Return to ginga position

Start kicking from high and  keep it high until the end.

 

Meia Lua De Frente

Description:

It is used to kick the opponent  -Front, side to center kick. It can be executed with front or back leg.

  1. Bring your foot to parallel position
  2. Lift your foot
  3. Kick from side to the center
  4. Return to ginga position by rewinding the following steps

Your body will slightly lean back.

 

Esquiva Lateral

Description:

It is used to avoid kicks. It can be side or to the back.

Instructions:

  1. Bring your foot to parallel position
  2. Turn yoour body to the side
  3. Maintain one leg straight and the other bent
  4. Return to ginga position
